We will discuss the exact dates and itinerary of the 2011 Cultural Tour to Russia at our Russian Tea on January, 15th at 10am to make sure that they are convenient for everybody. We decide what will be the theme of the trip. People get to know one another.
Normally I have between 3 and 6 people in my group. The trip to St. Petersburg, Novgorod (which is 1,150 years old) and Moscow is eleven days long.
Some people love to continue the trip rediscovering their roots (their grandparents were born in Russia...) or going on to the other cities. The cost of the tour is $5,300 per person (double occupancy) plus visa processing fees from the Russian Consulate in New York.

Local Educator and Artist Leads a
Cultural Tour to Russia
In May/June of 2011, local Russian artist, historian, lecturer and iconographer, Marina Forbes, will once again be leading her special tour to Russia designed for anyone who is interested in learning about Russia first-hand. This will be the 18th year that Marina is offering her unique tour of her native city of St. Petersburg and Moscow during the season of White Nights when St. Petersburg is bathed in 24 hours of continuous daylight. Marina Forbes is a traditional Russian icon painter and is licensed with the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. She offers more than 75 lectures and presentations each year on Russian art, traditions, history, contemporary Russian life and Russian culture. Her tour is customized each year to focus on the specific interests of the tour group (to be discussed in great details at our January, 15th, 2011 Russian Tea). In addition to the cultural and historic component of the tour, participants will have an opportunity to meet with individual Russians representing a broad cross-section of contemporary Russian life. They will meet with Russian educators, students and school administrators to explore how the Russian system works and to shares ideas and experiences. Exclusive on-site visits with Russian politicians, artists, entrepreneurs, medical professionals, pensioners, and university professors are also possible. The program includes lectures and discussion sessions on Imperial Russia and Russia Today; guided visits to major historical sites, cultural centers and museums; restaurants featuring traditional Russian food, Russian opera and ballet, and a number of activities designed to give tour participants an opportunity to experience first-hand the reality of everyday life in Russia.
